Quick trip.

So, Thanksgiving was wonderful!  The pie was a hit, except for people who don’t like nuts.  On Sunday, we drove up to see my Southern man’s side of the family.  We had a wonderful time seeing his Mom, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and all of their kids, who are our kids’ ages and younger.  (My Southern man is the youngest of six kids, so we have nephews that are almost as old as we are.)

The drive to his family’s stomping grounds takes about 3 hours…when I’m driving.  We found that the highway is a good bit faster than the more scenic route that my Southern man likes to take.  Not that there isn’t plenty to see on the highway route.  There’s the giant peach water tower:  the Confederate Veterans Park with the huge rebel flag (don’t have a picture of that), the miniature Statue of Liberty replica at Liberty Park:  and, one of my favorites, the huge sign below:

Now, that’ll get your attention!
