Why I sometimes don’t care that I can’t swim.

This should be explanation enough:

This 14-foot, 2-inch, 838-pound alligator caught Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, in Dallas County, Alabama, set the record for the largest gator ever caught in Alabama’s sanctioned alligator hunts.

Yikes!

I don’t get along with gators…snakes…and many things in between. We had a gator stalk us from a pond at a state park. He was hungry…and we were on land. I guess he thought we would make a great meal.

That’s a bit un-nerving! It takes a bit getting used to not being at the top of the food chain! I’m certainly not used to the poisonous spiders and snakes, either. Not that we don’t have them up North, but they are certainly nowhere near as common.
